Sheriff's report Sept. 2 through Sept. 8, 2024

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 239 incidents from Sept. 2 through Sept. 8, including two search and rescues, five traffic collisions, 44 instances of citizens who lost their license plate tabs/stickers and had to get new ones from the Treasurer’s Office, four animal problems, a warrant service, seven traffic complaints, five suspicious persons/circumstances, a welfare check, 20 citizen assists, 35 urinalyses and 32 vehicle identification number inspections.

Sept. 2

At 3:07 a.m., a motorist broken down near Green River needed assistance. 

At 7:56 a.m., information was received for a warrant. 

At 9:48 a.m., information related to an ongoing investigation was received. 

At 9:52 a.m., a person need an x-ray on their shoulder. 

At 10:40 a.m., a woman calling to check on her daughter-in-law couldn’t get ahold of the clinic. 

At 11:40 a.m., a deputy assisted a motorist changing a tire. 

At noon, a medical emergency was reported and a life flight requested.

At 12:18 p.m., a blue Toyota hauling an unsecured load of wood in a trailer lost one of its logs which hit another vehicle. The truck kept driving southbound toward Big Piney without stopping.

At 1:06 p.m., a grey Ford F-150 started but wouldn’t shift and the locks wouldn’t work. The driver had no service to call a wrecker. 

At 1:25 p.m., a daughter who needed to get her sold vehicle off her father’s property but did not have permission to go onto the property was told it was a civil issue. 

At 3:46 p.m., a later model silver SUV was speeding and swerving all over the road. 

At 4:16 p.m., a driver was arrested for DWUS. 

At 4:28 p.m., a driver parked in a grey Toyota truck at the Daniel Junction smelled of alcohol and was passed out asleep. 

At 5:28 p.m., a dog was crossing Pine Street by the Cowboy Bar. 

At 5:30 p.m., a doctor at the clinic requested assistance with an assessment. 

At 5:42 p.m., a welfare check was requested. 

At 6:15 p.m., a minivan had its flashers on and might need assistance. 

At 6:18 p.m., a four-door sedan with Colorado plates driven by a young man almost ran a pickup truck off the road when it passed five vehicles at once. 

At 7:29 p.m., a woman who said she wasn’t feeling good passed out. 

At 7:31 p.m., the female driver of a grey Toyota Corolla parked by a back door looked like she was shooting up. 

Sept. 3

At 2:26 a.m., the Corral Bar discovered a fake ID left behind. 

At 4:07 a.m., burnt hotel food caused an alarm to activate. 

At 7:58 a.m., a moose was crossing the highway. 

At 8:11 a.m., a 911 call was an accident. The caller stayed on the line to provide her information. 

At 10:02 a.m., a person fell off a ladder. 

At 10:07 a.m., a person saw smoke on the mesa. 

At 11:09 a.m., one vehicle backed into another. 

At 11:30 a.m., a deceased dog was in a pasture. 

At 11:35 a.m., an information report was opened. 

At 12:12 p.m., a hit and run crash was reported. 

At 12:30 p.m., an information report was taken. 

At 1:17 p.m., a caller reported smoke coming straight up from the mountains. 

At 2:01 p.m., a two vehicle crash on the west side of the highway resulted in an RV leaking propane. 

At 3:58 p.m., a protection order was violated. 

At 4:33 p.m., a jury duty scam was reported. 

At 5:46 p.m., smoke was seen after a storm. 

At 6:31 p.m., a person had questions about paperwork a deputy was trying to serve. 

At 8:18 p.m., the EMS barn in Pinedale was patched through to St. John’s Medical Center. 

At 9:06 p.m., High Country Behavioral Health reported an overdose. 

At 11:14 p.m., a traffic stop resulted in a DUI. 

At 11:34 p.m., a blood draw was requested. 

Sept. 4

At 3:16 a.m., a fire alarm was a false alarm.

At 7:51 a.m., a prisoner was transported. 

At 8:58 a.m., a 911 open line disconnected without contact. 

At 9:35 a.m., a theft was reported. 

At 9:41 a.m., about 80 head of cattle were moving from west to east but traffic was not slowing down. 

At 9:43 a.m., a smoke plume by a tree line was reported. 

At 9:49 a.m., a caller had questions about wording in an email to be sent to a HOA regarding an uptick in dogs chasing wildlife and dog attacks. 

At 10:13 a.m., a caller thought an Apple AirTag was tracking their vehicle. 

At 11:03 a.m., a juvenile was cited for possession of drugs. 

At 11:09 a.m., a person was trespassing. 

At 11:11 a.m., a black cow was in the ditch. 

At 11:32 a.m., a search and rescue was initiated for a 50-year-old man with a compound fracture in his right arm at Horseshoe Lake. The SAR helicopter took the patient to the clinic.

At 12:22 p.m., a woman had an ongoing issue with someone. 

At 1:33 p.m., a person’s oxygen dropped. 

At 1:59 p.m., a lightning strike resulted in smoke coming from the trees. 

At 2:40 p.m., an elderly man was hiking out with a ranger and would rendezvous with the SAR team for hand-off. 

At 3 p.m., an active investigation was launched into a controlled substance problem. 

At 4:04 p.m., a caller’s son purchased a welding deck for at truck and nothing has been received but the seller blocked the son. 

At 4:04 p.m., a 911 call was accidental. 

At 4:16 p.m., a white semi was passing erratically and took out two snowplow markers. 

At 4:20 p.m., a portable breath test was requested. 

At 4:49 p.m., one hiker was worried about another and was advised to call back if the older hiker didn’t make it out of the mountains. 

At 5:40 p.m., two horses were walking on Fremont Lake Road toward Fremont Lake. 

At 5:41 p.m., a 911 call was abandoned. 

At 6:36 p.m., a domestic was in progress. 

At 6:46 p.m., a man in the lobby wanted to speak to a deputy about a woman tailgating and a ticket left on his truck. The citation was written by the Town of Pinedale, not the SCSO.

At 9:09 p.m., the Wyoming Highway Patrol requested agency assistance. 

At 9:58 p.m., a civil standby was requested. 

Sept. 5

At 12:46 a.m., a REDDI report was received for a maroon Ford truck that nearly took out the guard rails a few times and kept crossing the center line. 

At 6:49 a.m., a family fight was reported. 

At 8:02 a.m., a woman kept parking her truck near a caller’s house and letting the horn and lights go off for 30 minutes. It has happened at least three times. 

At 10:15 a.m., two neighbors who share a water well were fighting about it being shut off. 

At 10:38 a.m., howling dogs were being neglected. 

At 11 a.m., a person got a call from a scammer. 

At 12:55 p.m., a scam was reported. 

At 2:06 p.m., a REDDI report was received for a Dodge truck that couldn’t maintain a single lane of travel.

At 4:25 p.m., an information report related to an ongoing investigation was received. 

At 5:06 p.m., a case involved a juvenile. 

At 6:32 p.m., a REDDI report was received for a black GMC truck bouncing between the lines. 

At 9:05 p.m., a REDDI report was received for a black hatchback swearing and passing into ongoing traffic. 

At 9:25 p.m., a juvenile problem was reported. 

At 9:36 p.m., a man reported his Ridley’s number stolen after his 20,000 points were reduced to 400.

Sept. 6

At 7:19 a.m., a white Toyota Sequoia and a white Ford Edge were involved in a fender bender. 

At 7:38 a.m., a white GMC with Utah plates was parked with a camping setup blocking a bank’s drive up window. A deputy stayed at the bank until the camper packed dup and left. 

At 9:10 a.m., a district school bus supervisor wanted to speak to a deputy about an incident a bus driver had with a resident along a route. 

At 10:04 a.m., no voices were heard on a 911 open line. 

At 10:40 a.m., a person in the lobby wanted to report a fraud. 

At 11:09 a.m., a prisoner was transported. 

At 2:27 p.m., the Wyoming Highway Patrol requested agency assistance. 

At 4:08 p.m., a portable breath test was requested. 

At 5:27 p.m., a white truck with a camper was speeding and weaving through traffic. 

At 6 p.m., a man was arrested on a warrant. 

At 7:52 p.m., a deer had a broken leg. 

At 9:16 p.m., a search was conducted after a warrant was served.

Sept. 7

At 11:18 a.m., a dog owner wondered about the town’s leash laws. 

At 1:38 p.m., a red semi crossed the double yellow line and almost rear-ended a truck. 

At 4:12 p.m., a driver was arrested for DWUS.

At 4:34 p.m., a black Dodge truck was swerving all over and into oncoming traffic. 

At 5:15 p.m., a juvenile problem was reported. 

At 8 p.m., a deputy spoke with juveniles and their parents after the kids were found trespassing on some tractors behind the Burger Barn. 

At 11:20 p.m., the Wyoming Highway Patrol requested agency assistance with a breathing but unconscious subject in a vehicle with open containers. The driver was arrested for DUI. 

Sept. 8

At 12:46 a.m., a blood draw was performed. 

At 7:57 a.m., a caller picked up a friendly dog running around the neighborhood. 

At 9:36 a.m., a couple in the lobby had questions about a welfare check. 

At 10:16 a.m., a semi with an orange cab was passing at a high rate of speed and almost ran another driver off the road. 

At 11:35 a.m., cows were out and crossing into the subdivision. 

At 1:21 p.m., hikers accidentally called 911. 

At 2:36 p.m., a REDDI report was received for a red Dodge that was all over the road and speeding. 

At 3:41 p.m., a man who allowed a woman to keep her horses on his property asked they be removed after she sent rude and hateful messages to the caller’s fiancé. 

At 4:06 p.m., two black calves were in the ditch by Midway Mall. 

At 5:03 p.m., information was received related to an active investigation. 

At 5:27 p.m., lost property was reported. 

At 8:36 p.m., an injured deer in the southbound lane was a traffic hazard.
