Sheriff's report Sept. 23 through Sept. 29, 2024

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 177 incidents from Sept. 23 through Sept. 29, including six traffic accidents with damage, two search and rescues, two wildfires, seven livestock problems, a theft, nine suspicious persons/circumstances, two welfare checks, 19 citizen assists, 31 urinalyses and 28 vehicle identification number inspections.

Sept. 23

At 2:57 a.m., the Wyoming Highway Patrol advised of a traffic hazard.

At 8 a.m., a deputy checked the prescription drop box.

At 8:33 a.m., a caller wanted to speak to deputy about a text she received last night.

At 8:51 a.m., an unoccupied vehicle had been parked at Sweeny Creek for several days.

At 10:26 a.m., Mosley Mailboxes reported suspicious activity. An investigation is ongoing.

At 10:33 a.m., three mules and two horses were found.

At 12:39 p.m., a search warrant was executed.

At 1:46 p.m., a 911 call was accidental.

At 2:39 p.m., a caller said someone was being difficult.

At 3:51 p.m., a portable breath test was performed.

At 4:11 p.m., a caller wanted to report a scam.

At 8:30 p.m., a call about a juvenile drinking alcohol was unfounded.

At 9:12 p.m., a front entry door alarm activated. It was unfounded.

Sept. 24

At 7:27 a.m., a person with allergies was having trouble breathing.

At 7:47 a.m., a warrant was served.

At 11:46 a.m., the Boulder Vet Clinic reported a black and white hound that was brought in on Sept. 21.

At 11:54 a.m., a vehicle struck a deer.

At 1:05 p.m., a search and rescue was launched for a rider whose horse had fallen on them.

At 2:17 p.m., a caller wanted to report a scam.

At 3:17 p.m., a green truck with a camper shell was passing unsafely and speeding.

At 4:30 p.m., the SCSO started training.

At 5:32 p.m., a motorist needed assistance.

At 6:05 p.m., a red Nissan Extra was broken down in the middle of the road.

At 6:12 p.m., a person suffered traumatic injuries at a football game.
At 7:46 p.m., a kid on an e-bike was traveling around 45 mph without any headlights.

At 8:55 p.m., a caller thought she heard two gunshots. It was unfounded.

Sept. 25

At 8:27 a.m., a caller smelled an electrical fire. It was unfounded.

At 9:50 a.m., a Ford truck was parked on private property.

At 10:50 a.m., a caller had questions about paperwork he received.

At 11:08 a.m., a man was bitten by someone’s dog.

At 3:15 p.m., a caller had questions about a tow bill.

At 3:21 p.m., a SAR volunteer was stranded on a boat with two people.

At 3:27 p.m., two cows were on the highway.

At 4:13 p.m., a portable breath test was performed.

At 6:53 p.m., a loose dog was harassing other dogs.

At 7:06 p.m, a person who fell in their kitchen couldn’t get up.

At 9:34 p.m., a person might be having a heart attack.

At 9:53 p.m., hunters back at their campground reported two mules and two horses were on the mountain in really bad condition, with saddle sores, swollen eyes and some unable to walk.

At 10:28 p.m., a person couldn’t stand up.

At 10:36 p.m., a caller who had parked in front of Sublette Communications returned hours later to find his vehicle on the sidewalk 50-60 feet away from where he thought he parked.

Sept. 26

At 9:04 a.m., the clinic requested help with a Title 25 transport to Jackson.

At 9:33 a.m., a person with a new phone said the 911 hangup was just a “test call.”

At 9:49 a.m., a caller wanted the SCSO to have information.

At 10:30 a.m., the Pinedale Clinic requested assistance with a man driving from the Kendall Valley with the victim of a bear attack.

At 10:45 a.m., a caller reported someone parked in her driveway, walked up to the door and knocked but ran off once they heard the dog barking.

At 11:46 a.m., a caller had questions about fence-out laws.

At 11:58 a.m., a person had abdominal pain.

At 12:03 p.m., a Dodge Ram 2500 and a cargo trailer were involved in a crash.

At 12:19 p.m., a deputy served a criminal trespass order.

At 12:40 p.m., a 911 open line came through.

At 12:57 p.m., a person reported a violation of a protection order.

At 1:14 p.m., a deputy assisted with the Big Piney Homecoming Parade.

At 5:31 p.m., a man whose vehicle wasn’t where he left it wanted to follow up on the incident.

At 6:02 p.m., a possible wildfire was smoldering at Cirque of the Towers on the north side of Lonesome Lake.

At 7:01 p.m., a caller’s son was in a motor vehicle crash.

At 7:49 p.m., a big red angus cow was on the side of the road.

At 8:37 p.m., a person fell and needed help getting up.

Sept. 27

At 8:45 a.m., a caller wanted information about disposing of unused medication.

At 8:59 a.m., a caller was rude and rambling.

At 9:47 a.m., ranchers were moving 200-300 head of cattle.

At 1:36 p.m., unused medications were disposed of in the prescription drop box.

At 2:28 p.m., a work crew had a misunderstanding with a lot owner who was very upset.

At 2:44 p.m., two vehicles were racing.

At 3:33 p.m., a wallet was found and turned in.

At 3:41 p.m., a theft was reported.

At 3:48 p.m., a portable breath test was administered.

At 4:57 p.m., a young bull moose lying in the same spot for hours might be dead.

At 8:01 p.m., a crash was reported and the driver arrested for DUI.

At 11:16 p.m., a person took too many pills.

Sept. 28

At 12:06 a.m., a blood draw was performed at the jail.

At 1:36 a.m., a Honda Civic struck a cow.

At 5:07 a.m., a woman fell off a ladder getting out of the camper. Life Flight evacuated the patient from the trailhead.

At 7:43 a.m., a cow was on the highway.

At 9:33 a.m., two cow carcasses were on the highway.

At 12:14 p.m., a welfare check was requested.

At 12:47 p.m., a person was vomiting blood.

At 12:57 p.m., a new wildland fire was reported in Teton County.

At 1:09 p.m., a motorhome towing a Jeep blew a tire.

At 1:36 p.m., a person was having a heart attack.

At 2:13 p.m., trespasses were reported.

At 5:51 p.m., someone had abdominal pain.

At 6:18 p.m., loose dogs were stirring up other dogs in the neighborhood.

At 6:21 p.m., a hiker at the Cirque of the Towers noticed a small brush fire spreading rapidly.

At 6:24 p.m., a red calf was out near the highway.

At 6:56 p.m., a blue Ford Focus was swerving and brake checking other drivers.

At 7 p.m., a caller was having issues with her daughter.

At 7:31 p.m., hunters were harvesting deer possibly out of season.

At 7:35 p.m., a couple separated for the night.

At 8:45 p.m., a person was throwing up.

At 9:04 p.m., a caller was vomiting.

At 9:16 p.m., a large dog was barking all night.

At 9:36 p.m., neighbors dogs were barking.

Sept. 29

At 10:39 a.m., a person who pulled a knife on another was arrested for assault.

At 10:50 a.m., a Jeep Wrangler and Chevy Tahoe were involved in a crash.

At 12:07 p.m., a structure fire was reported near Water Tower Fields.

At 12:11 p.m., a disoriented man walked into a camp.

At 12:48 p.m., a caller had questions about restrictions on a driver’s license.

At 1:25 p.m., a caller was worried about a rope hanging form a Homecoming sign.

At 2:01 p.m., a little girl’s pink jacket was found in the backcountry.

At 2:11 p.m., a person had memory loss.

At 2:27 p.m., a REDDI report was received for a vehicle that nearly caused a head-on collision and could not maintain lanes.

At 2:57 p.m., a driver who was trying to pass another was struck deliberately.

At 3:12 p.m., Teton Interagency Dispatch requested assistance with the Pack Trail Fire.

At 3:57 p.m., a bicycle crash resulted in traumatic injuries.

At 5:57 p.m., a loose horse was on the highway.

At 6:23 p.m., a welfare check was requested.

At 6:30 p.m., a car was swerving all over the road.

At 8:39 p.m., a Toyota Tundra pulling a trailer hit a sign.

At 9:54 p.m., a smaller Toyota truck with a camper shell was traveling 10 mph below the speed limit when they swerved into a ditch and parked. The driver waved off the caller when he tried to stop to help.

At 11:13 p.m., a motorist assist resulted in the driver being arrested for driving without a license, no registration and interference with a peace officer.

At 11:21 p.m., a 911 call was accidental.
