BOISE, IDAHO – Seven athletes represented Sublette County on the Jackson Hole High School cross-country team at the annual Bob Firman Invitational in Boise on September 28.
The Bob Firman meet hosts nearly 50 teams from across Idaho, Utah, Wyoming and beyond in multiple races featuring hundreds of contestants.
Pinedale senior Madison Antonino was the highest-placing runner from Wyoming at the event, snagging fourth place out of 141 runners in the girls’ elite 5K division. Antonino clocked in with a time of 17 minutes, 52.60 seconds.
Big Piney seniors Jolynn Jones and Micah Strong placed 51st and 74th, respectively, in the girls’ elite 5K. Jones timed in at 19:42.00 while Strong crossed the finish line in 20:12.40.
Pinedale senior Cora Koci competed in the junior varsity girls’ 5K, placing 114th with a time of 27:34.40.
Big Piney senior Frank Elenes came in 142nd place in junior varsity boys, posting a time of 21:08.40.
Big Piney’s Chandler Jones and Joe Ferguson competed in the freshman 5K. Jones placed 16th at 17:45.20 with Ferguson in 91st place at 19:39.60.
