A particularly powerful wind gust knocked out the official timing camera early in the competition, forcing meet officials to use handheld timing devices for the remainder of the competition. As per new Wyoming state high-school regulations, results from handheld devices may not be used for official rankings, records or to prequalify athletes for State. While the meet in Green River continued as scheduled, none of the results printed below are considered official.

GREEN RIVER – Wyoming’s volatile spring weather continues to wreak havoc on the high-school spring sports season. Heavy snow and strong winds greeted athletes at the 2023 Green River High School Invitational on Friday, April 21.
Regardless of weather and technical glitches, track and field athletes from Pinedale High School rose to the occasion and brought their A-game to each event.
“When this type of thing happens at meets, we look to learn as much as we can from our day competing,” said Head Coach Kyle Sullivan. “For starters, our athletes did not waver. They remained focused on the goal of performing at their best. When an athlete can perform in poor weather conditions, it can provide a big confidence boost because if you can execute and remain focused in these conditions, you can certainly perform well when the weather works in your favor.”
