CASPER – A successful track and field season for Pinedale High School senior Katyana Dexter and junior Madison Antonino resulted in multiple 3A All-State and 3A West All-Conference accolades for the talented duo.
The Wyoming Coaches Association honors the top two individual placers at both the regional track meets and the state championships with All-Conference and All-State, respectively.
Antonino clinched All-State honors in all three of the girls’ long-distance running events at the state meet in Casper from May 16-18. Timing the 3200-meters in at 11 minutes, 21.66 seconds, Antonino garnered gold in the event.
Antonino went on to win the 1600-meters, posting a time of 5:13.35. In the 800-meters, Antonino scooped up All-State honors for a second-place finish with a time of 2:23.17.
Antonino swept distance events to snag three All-Conference awards at the 3A West Regional Track and Field Meet hosted by Mountain View on May 10-11. Antonino struck gold in the 3200-meters, timing in at 11:31.80, before winning both the 800-meters, finishing in 2:22.58 and the 1600-meters at 5:18.60.
Dexter secured All-State recognition in the girls’ discus, winning the event at the state meet by a huge 12-foot margin of 114 feet, 6 inches.
At the regional meet in Mountain View, Dexter picked up All-Conference accolades in both throwing events. Dexter came in second place in the discus with a mark of 41-10 ½.
Hitting a mark of 147-05 in the discus, Dexter captured the regional title, posting both a new personal record and Pinedale High School record in the event. Dexter set the previous discus record of 146-01 in 2023.
