JACKSON — Sublette County residents traveling toward the Jackson Town Square will likely recognize the vibrant artwork wrapped around the utility box at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Millward Street as the creation of none other than Pinedale’s own Mae Orm. The owner of Pinedale Arts and Crafts, Orm was one of 10 area artists selected from a pool of 39 to have her representation of the theme “home” turned into a vinyl wrap to cover a utility box in downtown Jackson. Other selected artists are Taryn Boals, Sue Cedarholm, Wendell Field, Miga Rossetti, Shannon Schacht, Kay Stratman, Kathryn Turner, Boughton Walden and Travis Walker.

The project was suggested by a resident and spearheaded by the Town of Jackson in partnership with Jackson Hole Public Art and with support from the Wyoming Department of Transportation. “We are very excited to showcase the talented local artists in our community through this Town of Jackson-funded program and we thank WYDOT for their participation. This project was suggested by a community member and is a favorite of locals and visitors,” Carrie Geraci Executive Director of Jackson Hole Public Art said.
Orm’s artwork is also a focal point of this year’s Old Bill’s Fun Run. The Jackson Hole Community Foundation commissioned Orm to create an Old Bill’s Fun Run original image that was also reproduced onto puzzles gifted to the large donors of the event, planned on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Orm has made a holiday tradition out of reproducing her artwork onto puzzles, explaining “A piece my mom wanted sold before she could get it, for her birthday during the COVID shutdown I sent her that piece on a puzzle.”

Orm’s mom said it made an “amazing puzzle” so she researched options for quality printed puzzles available in larger quantities and began offering them each holiday season. Her paintings “Rainbow Ninja” and “Square Top - Waterline” were available as 500- and 756-piece puzzles. Orm said another image will be released on a puzzle this year and available for sale at 20 W. Pine Street in Pinedale and online at https://crustybrush.square.site/.
