RESOLUTION OF INTENT
BE IT RESOLVED BY the Board of Directors of Mosquito Abatement District #2 that it intends to order improvements to be paid for by special assessment, specifically as follows:
1. The improvement proposed is to abate mosquito nuisance in Mosquito Abatement District #2
2. The probable cost of $35,970 is estimated by the Sublette County Assessor office as per the following estimate.
ESTIMATED COST FOR 2026-2027 AERIAL MOSQUITO SPRAYING IN SUBLETTE COUNTY MOSQUITO ABATEMENT DISTRICT #2
Approximate acreage to be sprayed 24,000
Approximate cost per acre chemicals and two applications $2.76
Total approximate cost for chemicals and two applications $ 66,240
Cost of equipment and supplies $ 1,772
Miscellaneous operating and administration costs $ 13,750
TOTAL ESTIMATED COSTS FOR 2026-2027 FISCAL YEAR $81,762
I estimate the cost for two (2) aerial sprayings of Sublette County Mosquito Abatement District #2, and miscellaneous operating expenses to be $81,762.
Cost to be funded as follows:
Assessment MAD#2 households $35,970
Contract Services(Town of Big Piney, Marbleton, Cemetery, Fairgrounds, Airport) $27,776
Grant Funds $18,016
(Based on $165.00 per household/business @ 218 entities as per the Sublette County Assessor)
TOTAL FUNDS TO BE COLLECTED $81,762
1. The assessment will be for $165.00 and will be assessed per household and/or business.
2. The assessment will be paid at the time and in the same manner as Sublette County property taxes for 2026.
3. A resolution authorizing such improvement shall be considered at a public meeting at the Big Piney Library on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at 5:00 P.M.
