The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 125 calls from Nov. 6 to Nov. 12, including a suicidal person, five collisions, five welfare checks, 11 citizen assists, an overdose, a structure fire, one vandalism, four suspicious incidents, a vicious animal, 31 urinalyses and 20 vehicle number inspections.

Sheriff's report Nov. 6 to Nov. 12, 2023

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 125 calls from Nov. 6 to Nov. 12, including a suicidal person, five collisions, five welfare checks, 11 citizen assists, an overdose, a structure fire, one vandalism, four suspicious incidents, a vicious animal, 31 urinalyses and 20 vehicle number inspections.

Nov. 6

At 10:40 a.m., two dogs running loose, a husky and a black poodle, attacked a cat. The owners put the dogs back in their fenced yard.

At 1:39 p.m., an officer helped a motorist with a flat tire.

At 3:20 p.m., Department of Family Services asked a deputy to help with a urinalysis.

At 3:44 p.m., a suspicious incident is under investigation.

At 7:09 p.m., a woman asked a deputy to check on someone’s welfare.

At 7:21 p.m., a man said his domesticated, permitted wild cat went missing; it looks like a mountain lion but doesn’t know how to hunt on its own. He was afraid neighbors might shoot it. The cat was still missing as of last weekend.

At 7:22 p.m., a buffalo was on Highway 351.

At 8:18 p.m., three bison were on the highway and one was almost hit by a vehicle.

At 10:11 p.m., a woman asked a deputy to check on a person’s welfare; a suspect was arrested for credit card fraud.

Nov. 7

At 4:57 a.m., bison were still on Highway 351.

At 10:40 a.m., Pinedale High School staff received a Safe2Tell text.

At 1:51 p.m., a school resource officer investigated a juvenile problem.

At 2:51 p.m., a vehicle went off the road; the driver was cited for failure to maintain a lane and no seatbelt.

At 11:27 p.m., a person’s breathing was labored.

Nov. 8

At 8:16 a.m., a man out of a job and without a car had his belongings in three trash cans, plus a saddle. He asked for a ride to the highway. A deputy declined.

At 8:38 a.m., a man brought a stray pitbull to the sheriff’s office.

At 9:17 a.m., a mother asked if a teacher can go through her kid’s cellphone.

At 12:02 p.m., a woman had civil issues with her soon-to-be ex-husband.

At 3:37 p.m., someone sideswiped a vehicle in a school parking lot.

At 3:49 p.m., a man had a bipolar and schizophrenic episode and wouldn’t get in a car. A deputy and Sublette EMS talked to the man and provided a ride to Jackson.

At 6:31 p.m., a person’s Parkinson’s symptoms were elevated.

At 6:41 p.m., someone hit a woman’s car parked while she was inside a store.

At 7:48 p.m., a person had heart attack symptoms.

At 10:32 p.m., a man’s Ford 350 was stuck on Slate Creek Ridge and he had enough supplies to stay safe and warm. He was in Lincoln County; dispatch used 911 to figure his coordinates and gave the information to Lincoln County.

Nov. 9

At 7:06 a.m., a woman running near Trappers Point found small animal carcasses, possibly badgers or beaver, in a circle. Wyoming Game and Fish was notified.

At 9:03 a.m., a deputy looked into a possible protection order violation.

At 9:52 a.m., a car dealer reported a vandalized vehicle.

At 10:16 a.m., the Big Piney school resource officer looked into a juvenile problem.

At 10:39 a.m., a deputy transported a prisoner.

At 11:38 a.m., a 911 caller reported a smoky haze in the home; the call was transferred to Sublette County Unified Fire. They found no evidence of fire or carbon monoxide.

At 1:07 p.m., a school resource officer reported a juvenile’s tobacco problem.

At 1:23 p.m., a shorthaired terrier was chasing cars.

At 1:41 p.m., a woman was concerned about a person’s welfare.

At 3:22 p.m., a man called about a no trespass order.

At 5:29 p.m., a deputy provided information about protective orders.

At 6:22 p.m., a deputy arrested a man for parole violation.

At 9:10 p.m., a deputy cited a driver for a controlled substance violation.

At 9:14 p.m., Sublette EMS checked on an inmate with a facial cut.

At 9:37 p.m., an inmate was transported.

Nov. 10

At 11:03 a.m., a suspicious 911 call was accidental.

At 12:11 p.m., a deputy checked on a person’s welfare.

At 12:22 p.m., a deputy looked for an elderly man walking along Highway 351 but didn’t find him.

At 7:35 p.m., a deputy requested a urinalysis for a man out on bond.

At 8:09 p.m., Wyoming Highway Patrol asked for assistance with a possible vehicle crash; a driver was looking for their cat.

Nov. 11

At 11:3 a.m., a person had a seizure.

At 12:50 p.m., a caller said someone he sent a picture of a certain nature to was threatening to post it on Instagram unless he paid. It was a scam.

At 6:16 p.m., a deputy helped with a civil standby.

At 6:21 p.m., a man needed help getting back in his chair.

At 7:05 p.m., someone almost hit a black cow on the highway.

At 7:27 p.m., a woman checking on someone’s welfare learned he was arrested for a controlled substance violation.

At 7:43 p.m., a man was excused from his urinalysis because the jail was booking an inmate.

At 9:40 p.m., a deputy asked Sublette EMS to do a blood draw.

At 10:24 p.m., the Big Piney school resource officer escorted the Big Piney football team home after winning the State championship.

At 11:09 p.m., a woman said loud music plays every night.

Nov. 12

At 1:22 a.m., a person with COPD had breathing problems.

At 10:28 a.m., a Lewistown, Mont., deputy called about a Pinedale caller harassing someone.

At 1:15 p.m., someone who fell the night before had trouble walking.

At 1:51 p.m., a silver Subaru parked off the road might have been in a crash; no one was around.

At 3:08 p.m., a horse trailer with propane, dog food and a living area was parked on someone’s property. A deputy left a note saying the trailer was 20 yards from state land.

At 4:32 p.m., a cat was hit in the road.

At 5:45 p.m., a woman reported a theft.

At 6:10 p.m., the man missing his caracal, a medium-sized wild cat, for a week asked if he could drive to neighboring houses with no trespassing signs and asked if that would be trespassing. As of Monday, the wild cat has not been found.

At 8:21 p.m., a 2019 Ford truck hit and injured a deer.

At 8:59 p.m., a person who was suicidal was taken to Jackson.

At 11:27 p.m., a person overdosed.
