SCCD hires new senior natural resource tech

Posted

PINEDALE — Meet the Sublette County Conservation District’s newest staff member, Fiona Shine. Shine is working on mesic restoration as Senior Natural Resource Technician.

“I was born and raised on a small farm near East Lansing, Michigan (Go Green!), attended Lawerence University in Wisconsin, where I gained my Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies,” Shine said in a SCCD release on Jan. 16.

Shine first came to Sublette County as an intern on the Bar Cross Ranch for the summer of 2021, where she worked on a mesic restoration project with local agencies. She came back in 2022 to work on livestock and grazing management.

In January, Shine returned again, this time to work for the conservation district with the goal of “improving wetland habitat and land health through the implementation of erosion control and floodplain connectivity structures.”

Shine said she is looking forward to working with community members to protect the natural lands of Sublette County.
