It’s a Pinedale (Costume) STAmpede!

Posted

PINEDALE – Dozens of skiers from Sublette County and beyond turned out on a gorgeous Saturday morning to participate in the Pinedale STAmpede cross-country races.

The theme for the event hosted by Sublette Trails Association (STA) and Friends of the Bridger-Teton and sponsored by local businesses and organizations was ‘90s hiphop – although any costume was encouraged. While some skiers went for the grunge look, others opted for whimsical characters. Some skated; others skied the “costume lap” in the classic style. Everyone had a smile.

The event was based from the White Pine Nordic Center, with beer supplied by Wind River Brewing and breakfast burritos composed by Nested West owner Emi Reilly Domato (who also won her race category).

For the costume contest, first place went to The Incredibles, the Mack Family. Second went to Wade Froseth and third place to Jess Artz and Theresa Froseth. The Robson Family took honorable mention.
