Don Tegeler loved Pinedale, however, his alternative to snow shoveling was Tucson, Ariz. He passed away in his home in Tucson on May 3. He is survived by his wife Jill Tegeler, son Kelly Tegeler and wife Denise, daughter Kerry Majhanovich and husband Jay and sister Marilyn DeJulio. He has three granddaughters, Shelbi Streiff, Maggie Majhanovich and Mandy Majhanovich.

Don and Jill came to Pinedale in 1974 with the purchase of Allen Agency. A couple years later he renamed it Tegeler & Associates and convinced Jill to take the real estate side, which she kept as Allen Agency.

Don spent most of the young part of his life in Cheyenne, Wyo., and even managed to ride the rails once in a while with his father, an engineer for Union Pacific. He received his bachelor’s degree from Chadron State College in Nebraska and was in the insurance industry even before the completion of that degree.

Don loved riding his horse, Blaze, and taking friends to the Big Horn Mountain Roundup, where he could ride more and be around fellow riders that came from all over. Anyone that knew him knew that he was a bit of a smart aleck and loved to tease.

Don helped build the first swimming pool in Sublette County, as well as the tennis courts next to it. He was also able to help beautify main street with the addition of a park. Some of his best times were spent with friends at breakfast, lunch or dinner.
