PINEDALE – Not much was working for Pinedale's football team Friday against Mountain View.

The Buffalos held Pinedale to under 100 yards on offense, forced six turnovers, blocked a punt and spoiled the Wranglers' Homecoming with a shutout, 40-0.

Pinedale only completed four of its 18 pass attempts in the game. Two of those completions were good for first downs, but four other passes were intercepted. Pinedale also fumbled twice.

Pinedale's defense, however, came up with some big turnovers, too. After Mountain View picked off a pass just outside Pinedale's red zone, Raven Que intercepted a pass at the goal line to end the threat. Que also recovered a fumble in the fourth quarter. Two plays after his interception, however, Mountain View intercepted another pass and scored three plays later to take a 26-0 lead. A fumble helped Mountain View score again and take a 33-0 lead into halftime.

The second half didn't start much better for the Wranglers. Pinedale fumbled on its first possession and Mountain View's backup quarterback tossed a 17-yard touchdown pass to make the score 40-0.

Pinedale's Mathias Berghammer intercepted a pass in the third quarter and Isaac Loftus recovered a fumble in the fourth, but the Wranglers never found a way to get on the scoreboard.

Pinedale is now 2-3 overall and 2-2 in 2A West Conference games. The Buffalos improved to 4-1, 3-0, to hold on to first place.

Friday, Pinedale will travel to Big Piney (4-1, 3-1) for the Punchers' Homecoming game at 3:30 p.m. The game will have big playoff implications for both teams. The Punchers are currently second in the conference while Pinedale is fifth and just outside of the playoff bubble.
