Ray Donald Gordon Jr., 85, of Hudson, Wyo., passed away Aug. 4 in Riverton, Wyo.
Ray was born on Sept. 1, 1937 in Emmetsburg, Iowa.
Ray was a U.S. Marine, husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many. He was strong-willed and the definition of a good man. He was strong and committed to his morals and believed in doing the right thing and having fun. He went through many stages in his life from being a Marine, raising kids, riding horses, running competitive dogsled teams, hunting, fishing and a lot of motorcycle riding. He could tell stories about his life that sounded like plots from a movie. He could give you advice on almost anything in the world. He was a man that lived by his own accord and asked for no one’s permissions.
He is survived by many people that he helped make into better human beings. So, whether you knew him as the older guy driving around town, doing poker runs on his orange trike, hunting in Pinedale and Wyoming, during his dogsledding days, or just from talking or enjoying a beer or two, please join us for a celebration of life for Ray in Riverton at the Chandelle Event Center on Sept. 1. A small service will start at about 7 p.m. and then we can all tell stories.
