LuAnne (Spencer) Freeman, 90, passed away peacefully in Lawton, Oklahoma, on February 28, 2025. She was born in Nevada City, California, June 17, 1934, and was raised in the gold mining town of Hammonton where her father worked on the gold dredger. She married Fred A. Freeman, Jr., on April 7, 1950. Fred and Luanne raised 4 children. LuAnne was active in PTA and often worked at the post office wherever Fred's career sent him. The US Federal Prison system took the family to 8 major institutions over the course of their marriage, beginning with his posting to the infamous island of Alcatraz in San Francisco Bay. Fred retired after 25 years of service and the couple moved to Cora, Wyoming, in 1983. LuAnne was an active member of Pinedale Chapter #30 and Big Piney Chapter #42 of the Order of Eastern Star. LuAnne worked for Sublette County (Wyoming) and the US Postal Service until 2017. She moved to Lawton, Oklahoma in 2023.

She is survived by son, Fred (Lucy) Freeman, of Sugar Land, TX; daughter June Rain (Jerry Dodd), of Lawton, OK; and daughter Patti (Alan) Bernhardt of Bradenton, FL. LuAnne's 10 beloved grandchildren live in California, Florida, Louisiana, South Carolina, Texas, and York, England.

LuAnne was preceded in death by her husband, Fred, son, Charles, grandson, Ryan, mother and father, and six siblings.

At LuAnne's request, cremation without service was in Lawton, Oklahoma, on March 6, 2025. Luanne supported many causes, but was particularly faithful to Shriner's Hospital for Children and the Pinedale Library (Wyoming).
