With a wave of the flag,
cowboys from all over the region were off
competing in the Hi Country Ranch Rodeo on
June 14 and June 15 in Pinedale.
Not your typical rodeo, teams of four competed
in events such as doctoring, trailer loading,
penning and branding.
The youth also showed up trying to build
points and experience in rough stock events
including mini-bronc riding with smaller versions
of bucking horses provided by stock
contractor Casey Riggs.
Overall for the teams, Horton Stallion
Station, made up of Wade Tibbitts, Blaine
Mathews, Phil Selby and TJ Horton, won by

racking up the most points in all six events
over the course of the two-day competition.
Miller Land and Livestock placed second
with the team of Casey Manning, Wes Miller,
Boone Snidecor and Phil
Selby.
The Mid Night Riders
placed third with Slade
Morton, JD Slagowski,
Josiah Poindexter and
Shad Mills competing.
In the youth competitions
for mini-bronc
riders, Rowdy Benjamin
won the peewee age category
and Jaret Whitaker
placed second. Damiean
Westenskow won the junior
mini-bronc competition.
Tuker Carricato
won the senior category
with Jacob Cook placing
second.
In the ladies steerstopping
competition,
Kyndall Tibbitts won
and Jody Alley placed
second.
