Joella Dugan passed away on Monday, Sept. 27, 2021 at 10 a.m. Joella was born Dec. 29, 1938, in Rock Springs, Wyo., to Burleigh and Josephine Binning. She grew up in Pinedale and graduated from Pinedale High School. Joella had a long career with the U.S. Forest Service as well as running the family ranch throughout her adult life.
Joella was married to Ralph Allen Dugan II and they had two boys, Ralph Allen Dugan III and Jay Dugan. Both of her sons still live in the Pinedale community.
Joella was also an active member of the community in Pinedale and would often be seen at Rendezvous Pointe playing cards and spending time with family and friends. Many of our community members would describe her as tough and hardworking as she dedicated much time to her rental units that she had in the area. Joella also enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and played a huge role in their upbringing. Joella made a huge impact on everyone she was fortunate to cross paths with and she will be dearly missed by all of us.
Joella is survived by her sons Allen and Jay Dugan; grandchildren Jennifer Dugan, Kelly Easton, AJ Dugan and Madison Dugan. Joella also had seven great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her father Burleigh Binning and mother Josephine Binning and brother Willard Binning.
A graveside service was held Thursday, Sept. 30, at 10 a.m. at the Pinedale Cemetery. Friends and family were encouraged to gather immediately following the service at the Community Church Hall in Pinedale. Local arrangements were handled by Covill Funeral Home.
