Fremont County officials are investigating a death that occurred last week after one-vehicle rollover on the highway near Dubois.
Fremont County Coroner Mark Stratmoen said the crash resulted in the death of Jacob Levi Bain, 29, a resident of the Crowheart area.
Wyoming Highway Patrol records indicate Bain was the passenger of a pickup truck that crashed at about 2:30 a.m. Oct. 11 near milepost 68 on U.S. Highway 26.
The driver suffered injuries, according to the WHP.
Emergency logs indicate the coroner's office was called to the scene at about 4:40 a.m. Oct. 11.
The WHP says Bain was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Stratmoen said Bain's body underwent an autopsy, and results will be available in four to six weeks.
He noted that his office is investigating the incident in cooperation with the WHP as well as the Federal Bureau of Investigation, because the crash took place within the boundaries of the Wind River Indian Reservation.
"I'm not going to release any cause or manner (of death) until the investigation is done," Stratmoen said.
