Fredrick Dale Woirhaye, 84, was called
home on April 19.
Dale was born Nov. 8, 1934, in Pony,
Mont., to Frank and Virginia Woirhaye.
He enlisted in the United States Army and
served in the Korean War. On June 7, 1959,
he married Myrna Lemon in Harrison, Mont.
In 1969, they moved to Boulder, where they
resided until 2006 and then moved to Wheatland
to be closer to family.
Dale was a true cowboy. He loved his
family, friends and his work. He was a proud
veteran and a strong supporter of our troops.
There were few things he enjoyed more than
working cows on the open range. He knew
and valued a hard day’s work. When he
stopped riding horses, he rode four-wheelers
spraying weeds and pests and continued
working at the Platte County Weed and Pest.
He cherished his job as shop supervisor and
adored his coworkers.
He is survived by sons Deryl (Sue) Woirhaye
of Laramie, Dale (Julia) Woirhaye of
Douglas, and daughter Jody (Rob) Levin of Cheyenne. He is also survived and loved by
many nieces, nephews and grandchildren, JR (Bethany) Mason, Sara (Kyle) Sheen, Chase
Woirhaye, Lantow Woirhaye, Keinan Woirhaye and great-grandchildren Logan Mason,
Cameron Mason and Sadie Sheen, along with his work-family at the Weed and Pest.
Dale was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Virginia Woirhaye, his wife Myrna,
brothers Deryl Woirhaye, Dick Woirhaye, Doug Woirhaye, sister Dawn Mainwaring and
granddaughter Shenoa Woirhaye.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dale’s memory to St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
There will be a celebration of life this summer in Montana, per his wishes.
