Donna Jeanette (Bressler) Preston, 83,
passed peacefully away on Dec. 20 from a
long battle with Alzheimer’s. At Donna’s
request, there will be no funeral services, but
there will be a memorial of her life later for
her immediate family.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1937 to Marie
and Harold Bressler in Torrington, Wyo. She
was raised on the 33-Mile Ranch in Casper,
which is where she developed her intense love
for all animals. She rode horses, cared for the
animals on the ranch and had fond memories
of raising an orphan antelope.
She attended Casper schools and graduated
from Natrona County High School in 1955
and married her husband, Earl Preston. They
welcomed son Marty in 1956, another son
Michael in 1957 and a daughter LeAnn in
1958.
They remained in Casper until 1967 when
they moved to various towns in Idaho where
Earl worked as an electrician until finally
moving to Big Piney, Wyo. in 1968.
Donna and Earl owned an electrical
business in Big Piney and Donna was the bookkeeper for that business as well as working at
the cafeteria for the school district in Big Piney.
Donna’s passion for the outdoors involved weekly camping trips to the mountains along
with fishing trips with their boat, "Tubalina," to Jackson Lake, Fremont Lake and Flaming
Gorge Lake.
She had the patience of a saint and welcomed everyone to her table and funeral home. She
traveled with her husband to numerous European and domestic locations, but found her home,
family, friends and her beloved pets were her paradise.
Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Earl Preston of Big Piney, Wyo.; her sister Jeanie
Stowe of Salt Lake City, Utah; her children Martin Preston of Big Piney, Michael (Debbie)
Preston of Glenrock, Wyo. and LeAnn (Steve) Wilson of Casper, Wyo., along with four
grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Robert Bressler.
Mom, you left us beautiful memories, your love is still our guide – although we cannot see
you, you’re always at our side.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Casper Humane Society.
