Donna Jean Cordes was born May 5, 1937, to Darrell and Evelyn Loughead in Upland,
Calif., and passed away peacefully at home in Clarkdale, Ariz., on Monday, Jan. 21. Donna
was a twin to Donald, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband Bob, son Robert III (Kim),
of Phoenix, Ariz., son Gary (Diana), of Prescott Valley, Ariz., and daughter Debra (John
Baker) of Grand Junction, Colo. Additional survivors include four grandchildren Jennifer,
Cynthia, Greg and Jeff and six great-grandchildren, Logan, Tanner, Jackson, Sierra, Audrey
and Charlotte.
After living in and visiting various places including Egypt, Europe and Alaska, Donna
and Bob’s love for the outdoor life drew them to the pristine and tranquil region surrounding
Boulder Lake. Here they built their dream log home, which for many years served as the
epicenter for her passions. The area supported great fishing opportunities that she would frequently
indulge in. If not found at a nearby lake or stream, she would be tending her beloved
horses. She was fond of playing her musical instruments when time allowed and always
enjoyed spending time with her family during visits.
The sound of her laughter will be missed.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in
Cottonwood, Ariz., at 12 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 25, 2019. Interment will be held in Sedona
Community Cemetery directed by Bueler Funeral Home in Cottonwood.
