Donald Sondgeroth, 87, passed away
May 3, at his home in Aurora, Colo. He
was born Aug. 21, 1931, in Herrick, S.D.,
to Viola and Walter Sondgeroth. He married
LaDella Ludeman in 1954.
He was preceded in death by his wife
LaDella, parents Walt and Viola, his stepmother
Irene, brother Harold (Gerry), and
sister Nita O’Melia (Mike).
He is survived by his children Scott
(Bobi), Jim (Sheila), Jody (Tom), Lewis,
Mark (Wendy), Shelly, Jeff (Linda),
Kelly, Casey (Greg), and his brother Joe
(Annie).
He retired from the U.S. Mint as a pipe
fitter and was recognized by the wrestling
community as a world-class referee. As
a Marine, he proudly served his country
from 1950 to 1954 during the Korean
War. His passion at heart was fishing and
spending time with his grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted on
May 10, followed by internment at Fort
Logan National Cemetery with full military
honors.
