Dixie Lee Bredthauer
October 30, 1945 — May 19, 2025
Dixie Lee Bredthauer, 79, of Pinedale, Wyo., passed away unexpectedly at the Pinedale Clinic in Pinedale on May 19. Dixie was born in Lusk, Wyo., on October 30, 1945. She grew up in Lance Creek, Wyo. Her father passed away in 1953 when she was 8 years old. Her step-father, Gilbert Snell married her mother in 1957. She attended school in Lance Creek from first through eighth grade. She graduated from Niobrara County High School in Lusk in 1964.
In 1964, she married Ray Bredthauer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lusk. In 1965, she attended beauty school in Laramie, Wyo. She worked for 12 years as a business owner and hair dresser in Pinedale. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. In 2023, Dixie was president of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She loved journaling, scrapbooking, camping, boating and going for drives to see the changing leaves in the fall.
Dixie is survived by her husband, Ray Bredthauer and three children; Troy Bredthauer, Darwin Bredthauer (Amy); Teresa Bredthauer (Jon Dollar); three grandchildren Saria Bredthauer McLean-Brandon, Malak Bredthauer (Sophia), and Jarak Bredthauer; two great-grandchildren, Rossi McLean and Ryler McLean; her brother Robert James Miller (Marilyn Hughs), and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Miller; her stepfather, Gilbert Snell; her mother, Dorothy Snell; her brother, Raymond Miller; and her adopted brother Ronnie Snell. Funeral services were held on May 31 at Our Saviors Lutheran Church at 2 p.m.
Family wishes memorial contributions go to the (LWML) associated with Our Savior's Lutheran Church. On the morning of her passing, Dixie was still full of life and was excited about upcoming summer events. She was beautiful inside and out, and a true blessing to all that knew her. She will be missed beyond words.
