SUBLETTE COUNTY – Big Piney Middle School seventh-grader Addi Cunningham recently won the local Peace Poster Contest sponsored by the Pinedale Lions Club.
Her poster was among more than 450,000 worldwide entries into the annual Lions International Poster Contest.
The poster was selected by a panel of judges from the Pinedale Lions Club for its originality, artistic merit and portrayal of the contest theme Peace Through Service. The 12-year-old titled her piece “Peace is a gift by itself.”
Eighteen students at the school’s art class submitted art pieces and judging was conducted in November at the VFW of Pinedale.
“We are always impressed by the visions of peace that these students portray,” Lions Club President Max Lockett said in a release. “We appreciate the schools working with us on this important program.”
Cunningham was presented with a club contest winners’ certificate and art supplies. Other art class students were presented with certificates of honorable mention.
