Bernadette ‘Bernie’ Marie Gosar
December 7, 1933 — May 1, 2025
Bernadette “Bernie” Marie Gosar passed away peacefully on May 1, at the age of 91 in Laramie, Wyo. Born December 7, 1933, to Grace and Gaston Erramouspe, Bernie was raised on a ranch where the wide-open landscape led to a lifelong love of nature.
Although nature filled her with wonder, Bernie’s heart belonged to family and faith. Her parents, instilled within her a deep devotion to both. She loved each of her nine brothers and sisters, and found great joy in raising a family of her own. Bernie also loved being a mom and dedicated her life to raising her 10 children. Her devotion extended to her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and any child put in her care. Happiness was found listening to a grandchild read a story or watching a niece play a sport.
To Bernie, sharing food was a sacred act and a way to express love, especially during family meals. Guided by her faith, she saw family in a broad sense and devoted herself to helping those less fortunate; treating friends, neighbors, and anyone in need as part of her family.
Bernie was preceded in death by her husband, Tony, and her daughter, Grace. She is survived by nine children, 20 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.
Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church will host a Rosary at 6 p.m. on May 23 and a mass at 10 a.m. on May 24 in remembrance. The family of Bernie Gosar kindly requests that donations be made to the Downtown Clinic in Laramie, or to a charity of your choice.
