SUBLETTE COUNTY – Every year since the first Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame inductions, the “class” of the year lists local cowboys, living and legends, many from Sublette County, in great part due to historian Jonita Sommers’ strong interest in preserving this western way of life of working horses and cattle.
It has become an annual tradition as well for the Sommers family to host a very local celebration for those honored with induction into the Wyoming Cowboy Hall of Fame. Again on Sept. 4, the honorees’ families, ranch managers and former coworkers came to the Sommers Homestead Living History Museum to receive official certificates, meet one another and swap tales. Tawny Roberts made the presentations.
