PINEDALE – Hitting the pool for a busy weekend, the Sublette County combined girls’ swim team competed in Rock Springs on Thursday, Oct. 7, followed by the Rawlins Invitational on Oct. 9.

Sublette County placed fifth at Rawlins with 152 points, ahead of Kemmerer and Evanston. Rock Springs did not keep team scores.

“We are mid-season and these young ladies are still dropping time in their individual events,” said coach Kursty Day. “They are working hard and it shows in the meet.”

On Thursday, Oct. 14, Sublette County hosted Senior Night in Big Piney. Coach Day highlighted the senior class.

“This group of seniors has been so much fun to coach,” Day said. “They have a lot of talent, they are willing to work hard and share their knowledge with the underclassmen. They are full of potential and I know they will accomplish great things.”

Coach Ambr Seemann also gave the freshmen on the team a shoutout.

“Their hard work continues to pay off,” she said. “KaLee Bohnet swam two of the toughest events – the 200-individual medley and 100-butterfly and was excited to take on the challenge. Alexis Thompson continues to make great gains in the 500-, 100- and 50-freestyle. Maggie Walker continues to improve in the 50- and 100-freestyle as well as the 100-backstroke. Jolynn Jones and Emma York also continue to drop large amounts of time. Addison Statham is a great encouragement to her team.”

Seemann praised the divers’ efforts over the weekend.

“Junior Lilly Joseph dove within .75 points of qualifying in 11 dives. We are excited to see her reach that goal. Senior Rachael Essington scored her highest for 11 dives in Rawlins. It is wonderful watching her grow and improve. Junior Rhonda Auradou continues to lead the divers as she scored her highest for the year at the meet in Rawlins.”
