PINEDALE – Well over a hundred people gathered at the Pinedale Cemetery for Memorial Day on Monday, May 29, to honor members of the military who paid the ultimate price for protecting the freedoms of America.
The ceremony included words of welcome from VFW Post 4801 Commander Jim Washum, an opening benediction by VFW chaplain Randy Belton, a speech from retired Brigadier General Tim Scott, the laying of flowers and wreaths, a 21-gun salute by the VFW Honor Guard, the playing of Taps and a closing prayer by Belton.
Many then headed over to the VFW for a time of food, fellowship and reflection.
