Mary Stager

On Nov. 4, 2021, Mary M. Stager, 82, was called back home.

Mary was born April 29,1939, to Charles and Helen Zarker, in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

At a young age they moved to Nevada and California. She attended school in California, where she graduated from Hayward Adult and Technical School with her nurse’s aide diploma in 1965. She was also a bowling instructor, which she enjoyed doing.

She was full of life. Some of her favorite hobbies included fishing, hunting, collecting antlers, horseback riding, bowling, digging fossils, raising German shepherds and talking on the phone. She was also a lifetime member of the NRA.

Mary was the third child of five.

Her siblings are Bill, Don, Charline and Dee.

She later on moved to Reno, Nev., where she met her late husband Stephen A. Stager. They were married on Feb. 18, 1973, in Bellevue, Idaho. In 1981, they moved to Big Piney, Wyo., where she was a resident for 40 years.

Mary had four children.

She is survived by her three children, Jim (Billie) Laughter of La Barge, Wyo., Judy (Tom) Stanhope of Big Piney, Wyo., Tawny (Tim) Stager of Rock Springs, Wyo., 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by both of her parents, late husband Stephen A. Stager, her son John P. Laughter, brother Bill Zarker and her brother-in-law Rob Woffinden. 

As per Mary’s request, no services will be held.
