Lost hunter is found uninjured

BONDURANT – A hunter who failed to report for work on Monday, Nov. 5, was found after he walked out to a ranch near Bondurant, Nov. 6.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Department was asked to do a welfare check on Leslie Blake Ober, 58, of Pinedale when he did not report for work. He reportedly had been out scouting a hunt in the Bondurant area.

Initial searches on Monday did not show any sign of Ober or his vehecle.

On Tuesday, members of Tip Tip Search and Rescue and the Sublette County Sheriff’s Department resumed the search. About 1 p.m., Ober was reported at an area ranch, where he walked to receive help after becoming stuck in the snow. He had slept in his stuck vehicle for two nights before walking out. Ober refused medical attention and was transported to his residence.

Hunter are encouraged to leave information about their destination along with a planned return time with a family member or coworker before setting out. n
