Larry ‘Dave’ Gallatin

Larry David “Dave” Gallatin, 75, of Livermore, Colo., passed away unexpectedly at his daughter’s home in Goodwell, Okla., on Sept. 29, 2021.

The son of Betty (Campbell) Hubbard and Lloyd Gallatin, Dave was born Nov. 4, 1945, in St. Louis, Mo. He was raised in Riverton, Wyo., where his love for the mountains and everything outdoors grew. He graduated from Riverton High School with the class of 1963. He then attended Casper College and completed his Bachelor of Agriculture Education at the University of Wyoming. After meeting while teaching in Pinedale, Wyo., Dave and Carol Sue Enns were married on June 7, 1975, in Enid, Okla.

After teaching and farming, Dave earned his Master of Science in Agriculture Education and his Doctorate of Education from Oklahoma State University in Stillwater. They made their home in Tucumcari, N.M., for many years, where Dave served as vice president of academic and financial affairs for Mesalands Community College. After retirement in 2010, they moved to Colorado to enjoy the beauty of the mountains.

In addition to his love of the outdoors, Dave enjoyed playing with grandkids, spending time and helping family and friends, hunting, fishing, riding horses and traveling. He was a man with great love for God and America and member of Faith Evangelical Free Church in Fort Collins and a lifetime NRA member.

He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Earl Enns, and niece, Neva Gallatin.

Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Carol Gallatin of the home in Livermore, Colo.; one son, David Timothy Gallatin of Owasso, Okla.; one daughter, Kelly Faltyn and husband, Tim of Goodwell, Okla.; grandchildren: Tristan Hunter and Taylor Rose Gallatin, Timothy Max and David Rex Faltyn, Wyatt and Avery Enns, Brynley Enns and Rosie Enns; brother, Kerry Gallatin and wife, Debbie and sisters: Kathy Gordon and husband, Kenny and Neva Miller and husband, Ed all of Riverton, Wyo.; aunt Trudi Nelson and husband, Alec of Scottsdale, Ariz. Dave is also survived by his mother-in-law, Rose Enns of Waukomis, Okla.; brothers-in-law, Bryan Enns and wife, Margaret of Livermore, Colo., Mark Enns and wife, Kellie of Nunn, Colo. and John Enns and wife, Charla of Enid, Okla.; along with numerous nieces, nephews and many special friends.

The family greeted friends at the Bunch – Roberts Funeral Home on Saturday, Oct. 2, from 4 to 5 p.m.

A celebration of life service will be held Monday morning, Oct. 11, at 11 a.m. at the Faith Church, 3920 S. Shields in Fort Collins, Colo.
