Sharon Johnson of Pinedale is the new president of the Wyoming State Chapter of P.E.O.during its 101st Convention in Buffalo with 64 Chapters of P.E.O. in Wyoming. The Pinedale Chapter is BE, which participated in the ‘Cottey Walk,’ raising the most donations for Cottey College and winning the ‘Golden Shoe.’ Many Pinedale members attended the convention as their local sister, Sharon Johnson, was installed as president of the Wyoming State Chapter of P.E.O. with her theme Sisterly Love Inspires. She has been on the board for three years. P.E.O. is a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women, educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations.
Scholarships, awards and loans are provided locally in Big Piney, Pinedale and various other Wyoming cities, nationally and internationally to help women reach for the stars. What started with a bond of friendship among seven women in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, is now one of the oldest women's organizations in North America with nearly 5,800 chapters.
