Internships available to Pinedale students

PINEDALE – Pinedale High School and Skyline Academy students have an excellent opportunity to learn job-skill training and participate in a paid internship with local businesses this summer.

The Ready for the Workforce Program was developed by the Sublette County Chamber of Commerce, Sublette BOCES, the UW Sublette County Extension Service and the Sublette Economic Resource Council. It is designed to provide career and workforce readiness to students ages 14 to 18.

Prospective participants will be selected from an application and interview process. They will be required to complete four or six education sessions in teamwork, business etiquette, interview skills, customer service, civil rights, conflict resolution and resume development. Upon successful completion of the educational component, students will be paired with local businesses for a 60-hour internship to be finished from June 12 to Aug. 4. The internship experience is flexible so students can attend summer sports and other camp schedules.

Upon successful completion of the program, students will be awarded a $500 scholarship. For more details and to apply for Ready for the Workforce Program visit subletteboces.com/forms or wyoming4h.org/4hsublette/?page_id=971.

Applications are due April 24. They may be emailed to Robin Schamber at rschambe@uwyo.edu, Rachel Grimes at director@sublettechamber.com or Kaidi Raney at kraney@sub1.org; or mailed to Rachel Grimes at Sublette Chamber of Commerce, Box 176, Pinedale, WY 82941, or hand delivered to the Sublette Chamber/Visitor Center at 19 E. Pine St. or to Sublette BOCES in Pinedale during regular business hours.
