Class of 2010 representatives Keaton Cross and Matt Kroeger present recent Pinedale grad Joshua Gallardo with his scholarship last month. The Pinedale High School Class of 2010 awarded its annual scholarship to Gallardo based on his academic merit, community and school involvement, and his strong work ethic. Gallardo plans to attend the University of Wyoming this fall.
Since establishing the Senior Class Legacy Scholarship in 2010 (an annual scholarship now awarded from each PHS graduating class), the Class of 2010 has awarded two scholarships of its own to Pinedale High School seniors. The Class of 2010 Scholarship was created when the class discussed how to use the money left in its treasury, and decided that an annual award to a worthy senior would be a great legacy.
Keaton Cross, a 2010 alumni said, “This is a great way to give something back to our community that has given so much to us.”
Matt Kroeger, also a 2010 alumni added, “When I went to college, the local scholarships I received allowed me to graduate without student debt.”
Efforts to grow the scholarship have been aided by contributions from Class of 2010 alumni who are now in business locally, including Cross of K Cross Construction, Kroeger of Legacy Home Construction and Jake Brunette of Peak Disposal. Anyone wishing to contribute to this scholarship can contact the guidance office at Pinedale High School or members of the Class of 2010.
Congratulations and best of luck, Joshua!
