PINEDALE — White Pine Ski Resort ownership and its board of directors and advisory board have teamed up to support the Pinedale High School Alpine skiers. Through donated season passes and financial contributions, the resort and its leadership will bridge a critical funding gap for local student athletes this season.

The PHS alpine ski program includes about 20 student athletes. Alpine racers are coached by Jeff Wohl and Dan Williams. These young athletes train hard and compete across the region, representing Sublette County with grit and determination.

To ease training and competition costs, White Pine owner Joe Ricketts donated season passes to the Alpine team and its coaches, covering expenses that the recreation mill left unfunded this year. Additionally, several White Pine Ski Resort board members and the advisory board donated to the students. To date, these contributions total $5,000.

“Our student athletes are shining examples throughout our community, and White Pine is proud to have the opportunity to invest in them and support their endeavors,” Ricketts said. “A community ski hill is more than just a place to recreate; it is where young people hone their skills, compete with pride, and learn resilience through the challenges of sport. We are proud to keep skiing strong in Sublette County and build the next generation of leaders right here at home.”

“This support means the world to our kids and their families,” said Sublette County Ski & Snowboard Association President Scott Auld. “It takes a huge burden off parents and ensures athletes can focus on skiing their best. We are incredibly grateful to White Pine Resort ownership and its leaders for stepping up and illustrating to our students how much this community cares.”
