At the close of day Thursday, only two incumbents had filed for the three vacant seats on the Pinedale Town Council.
However, after reviewing the town’s election ordinance that was changed last year, it was determined the filing period remain open through Friday, April3.
Municipal Clerk Maureen Rudnick said Isaac Best filed Thursday after 5 p.m. and was initially turned away. Candidate Me- lissa Ryckman then filed on Friday. After the ordinance was reviewed by the town’s attorney Ed Wood, it was determined both applications should be accepted and placed on the May 5 ballot.
Incumbents Tyler Swafford and Judi Boyce also filed for reelection to the four- year seats.
The two-year seat is temporarily filled by Nylla Kunard.
Rudnick said she is encouraging voters to vote absentee. The location of the elec- tion is still under consideration as details emerge on current directives by Gov. Mark Gordon.
