SUBLETTE COUNTY — This week, 118 Sublette County students will cross the stage to collect their hard-earned high school diplomas. Skyline Academy, Pinedale High School and Big Piney High School all have commencement ceremonies planned in the coming days, with Skyline’s Class of 2024 being the first to toss their caps into the air tonight, May 23, beginning at 6 p.m., at the Sheppard Auditorium. The PHS Wranglers and the BPHS Punchers graduate on Friday, May 24, with their ceremonies both beginning at 7 p.m., in their respective gymnasiums.
The Skyline Hawks will graduate 15 seniors this year, compared to 21 students in 2023. Evelyn “Evie” Bennett is Skyline’s 2024 Valedictorian and Killian Bucy is this year’s Salutatorian.
Thirty-one students will graduate from Big Piney this year, down slightly from 36 in 2023. Multi-sport athlete Jackie Meador is Big Piney’s Valedictorian. Big Piney does not have a Salutatorian this year.
In Pinedale, 72 seniors will graduate on Friday, up from the 63 who walked the stage last year. Congressional gold medalist Wyatt Griffin solidified his spot as Pinedale’s Valedictorian for 2024, while Lauren Jones, a Wyoming State History Days winner, was named Salutatorian.
On Monday, May 20, PHS held its academic and athletic award ceremony during which the top five graduates were announced. In addition to Griffin and Jones, Kelsey Cooper, Ana Mika and Seren Noble will graduate in the top of their class.
