Sheriff's report Feb. 17 through Feb. 23, 2025

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office reported 153 incidents from Feb. 17 through Feb. 23, including a sex offense, six animal problems, two instances of suicide ideation, a probation/parole violation, three traffic crashes with damage, a cardiac arrest, four motorist assists, an instance of stalking, two welfare checks, two thefts, two threats, 14 suspicious persons/circumstances, two warrants served, three medical emergencies, 14 citizen assists, 35 urinalyses and 20 vehicle identification number inspections.

 

Feb. 17

At 2:41 a.m., a person who fell on the floor couldn’t get up.

At 7:21 a.m., a person fell when opening a door.

At 8:14 a.m., a neighbor was concerned about a dog left outdoors for long periods of time.

At 9:24 a.m., a man headed to work watched a bald eagle “hop across the highway.” He worried it had been clipped by a vehicle.

At 11:31 a.m., a woman found checkbook at the post office, which was closed, and wanted to turn it in to the sheriff’s office. The checkbook was returned to its owner.

At 11:52 a.m., a peaceful protest of DOGE and the war in Ukraine was planned for the lawn of the Sublette County Courthouse.

At 2:33 p.m., a woman who had been scammed by a few publishing companies was scared and wanted to speak to a deputy.

At 3 p.m., a person had low oxygen and a high heart rate.

At 3:48 p.m., a woman wanted to speak to a deputy about something that happened two nights ago.

At 6:02 p.m., a daughter was trying to turn her phone off and accidentally dialed 911.

At 6:32 p.m., a sex offense was reported.

At 8:54 p.m., a 911 call was a hangup.

 

Feb. 18

At 4:05 a.m., an alarm was unfounded.

At 6:52 a.m., a buckskin horse was loose near Mickelson Lane in Big Piney.

At 7:03 a.m., a caller requested a trespass notice.

At 8:38 a.m., a woman waiting for SSI to come out on the 28th felt like her mother was taking advantage of her by not releasing any funds.

At 8:48 a.m., a theft was reported.

At 10:05 a.m., neither Pinedale High School nor Skyline Academy answered a SchoolSafe page. Everything was fine.

At 10:21 a.m., a civil standby was requested.

At 10:24 a.m., a person called to incorrectly report that Cody Roberts’ family was hosting a coyote killing contest. The event was unrelated to Cody Roberts and hosted by the Waterhole #3 Bar in Big Piney.

At 10:26 a.m., a theft was reported.

At 11:01 a.m., a person wearing an oxygen mask was having trouble breathing.

At 1:34 p.m., a bartender at the Waterhole #3, which hosted the Song Dog Shootout, received hundred of texts and phone calls after wildlife advocate Jonas Black shared a poster with her cell number on his social media platforms.

At 2:46 p.m., a motorist needed assistance.

At 2:53 p.m., a caller’s mom was convulsing.

At 3:35 p.m., a man worried about 5-6 horses that had gone several days without feed.

At 4:42 p.m., a woman who let a friend on hard times stay with her was worried about how he treated his dogs.

At 5:13 p.m., a person had abnormal vital signs.

At 7:27 p.m., a man wondered when paperwork would be served.

At 9:15 p.m., a possible probation violation was reported.

 

Feb. 19

At 9:20 a.m., an abandoned vehicle was reported.

At 10:35 a.m., an open 911 line was just static.

At 10:43 a.m., an inmate was transported to the clinic.

At 12:21 p.m., a man hit a doe in front of Obo’s in Big Piney.

At 1:11 p.m., a woman had questions about the rules in reference to a dog attack.

At 1:15 p.m., a rancher wanted to report two calves that were hit in the road.

At 2:25 p.m., a threat was reported.

At 2:53 p.m., a protection order was violated.

At 5:16 p.m., a truck collided with a Jeep.

At 5:38 p.m., a black sedan was stuck in the snow.

 

Feb. 20

At 6:38 a.m., a white Dodge pickup had its wheels on the guard rail.

At 8:57 a.m., a man wanted to speak to a deputy.

At 10:24 a.m., the editor of the Pinedale Roundup reported a threat.

At 2:17 p.m., a woman found two cats near Half Moon Lake.

At 2:17 p.m., a man reported a phone scam.

At 2:23 p.m., a woman wanted to meet with a deputy to ask questions.

At 2:52 p.m., a 911 open line came through.

At 3:38 p.m., a suspect was arrested for violation of a protection order.

At 4:09 p.m., attempts to return a 911 hangup went to voicemail.

At 4:19 p.m., a welfare check was requested.

At 4:57 p.m., a person involved in a snowmobile crash might have broken their ribs.

At 6:13 p.m., a loose dog was wandering around.

At 8:20 p.m., a person on oxygen was having trouble breathing.

At 8:27 p.m., a burglar alarm was unfounded.

At 8:49 p.m., a warrant was served.

 

 

 

 

Feb. 21

At 2:26 a.m., a truck near LaBarge was spotlighting and shooting at something from the road.

At 10:35 a.m., a juvenile problem was reported.

At 10:54 a.m., a woman worried something might be wrong with a man who had been sitting on the walking path in front of the high school parking lot for 30 minutes.

At 10:55 a.m., deputies responded to a home where a 3-year-old child had called 911 to find that everything was okay.

At 11:35 a.m., a man’s phone accidentally connected him to 911.

At 12:45 p.m., a white van passed unsafely on the bridge at about 90 mph.

At 12:47 p.m., a woman in the lobby had some questions.

At 1:24 p.m., a warrant was served.

At 1:38 p.m., a man called and wanted to check a rifle.

At 2:29 p.m., a caller had chest pain.

At 2:29 p.m., a diabetic shock or coma was reported.

At 2:41 p.m., a neighbor’s dog kept growling at kids.

At 2:50 p.m., a person was “choked out wrestling and turned blue.”

 

Feb. 22

At 2:30 p.m., a woman reported sledders who had been riding for hours and racing up and down the road.

At 9:23 a.m., the clinic reported someone at home who would not wake up.

At 9:26 a.m., a vehicle slid off the road.

At 9:26 a.m., a citizen needed assistance.

At 10:18 a.m., a RapidSOS notification came through.

At 12:46 p.m., a welfare check was requested.

At 1:24 p.m., a very intoxicated man was walking in the middle of the road.

 

Feb. 23

At 3:04 a.m., a cow was in the northbound lane of the highway.

At 5:30 a.m., a motorist needed assistance.

At 8:50 a.m., a moose calf had its leg caught in a fence.

At 11:41 a.m., a woman thought her line had been hacked.

At 11:50 a.m., a white dog with black spots was loose near the highway.

At 12:13 p.m., a person carrying a phone in their pocket accidentally called 911.

At 1:56 p.m., a man wanted to speak to a game warden about harvesting the antlers off a deceased elk at New Fork Lake.

At 3:42 p.m., a man accidentally called 911 and then asked if the dispatcher had stroke questions she could ask him.

At 4:09 p.m., a person was obviously not breathing.

At 5:08 p.m., three horses were running on the side of the road.

At 6:53 p.m., a person fell and couldn’t get up.

At 7:14 p.m., a smoke alarm was unfounded.

At 7:44 p.m., a young bald man has been parking in front of a woman’s store every night for the last eight weeks, making her very uncomfortable.

At 9:26 p.m., a person was exhibiting abnormal behavior.

At 9:58 p.m., a burglar alarm was unfounded.
