Shepard’s family donates belongings to Smithsonian

Matthew Shepard’s parents, Judy and Dennis, will donate a collection of his personal items to the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History later this month, the museum announced Tuesday. Matthew Shepard died due to severe injuries he sustained during a vicious attack in October 1998 outside Laramie.
