PINEDALE — Sublette County School District #1 is excited to announce the upcoming construction of a state-of-the-art Career Technical Education (CTE) facility that will transform learning opportunities for students and benefit the entire community. After years of planning, the design phase of the project was approved by the Board of Trustees on February 8, 2024, marking a significant milestone toward making this much-needed facility a reality. More recently, at a special Board meeting on April 24, 2025, the Board approved the Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP) for the project. This approval paves the way for construction to begin. An open house was held at the future site, adjacent to the transportation facility at 10095 W. HWY 191 on June 4.
Design, architecture and construction
SCSD1 is proud to partner with two renowned architectural firms, Plan One Architects (Cody and Rock Springs) and DLR Group (Denver and Phoenix, AZ), who worked diligently to finalize the facility’s design. Their expertise is helping to ensure that this building will meet both current and future educational needs. Sampson Construction was selected as the construction manager for this project, and SCSD1 looks forward to working with them to complete this amazing learning space.
Project timeline and location
Construction of the new CTE facility is set to begin this month, with a planned completion date prior to the 2026-27 school year. The building will be located on district-owned property on the west end of town, adjacent to our transportation facilities.
This modern facility will provide students with hands-on learning environments, equipping them with the skills necessary for careers in various high-demand fields.
Educational programs
After conducting surveys with students and other stakeholders in March 2023, we identified several key programs that will be offered upon completion of the facility, including:
• Agriculture
• Welding/Manufacturing
• Construction
• Auto/Diesel Mechanics
• Culinary Arts
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
In addition to these programs, the facility will feature flexible learning spaces that can accommodate a variety of educational needs as they arise, allowing SCSD1 to adapt to future student interests and industry trends.
A facility for the community
While the primary goal of the CTE facility is to serve the students of SCSD1, the district is equally committed to ensuring that it becomes a valuable resource for the entire community. The versatile design and flexible spaces will allow the building to be used for community events, adult education, and other purposes that benefit Sublette County residents.
