Pinedale Senior All Star Little League takes State

Team needs community support for West Regional tourney

PINEDALE — The Pinedale Senior Little League team competed in the State Regional Tournament in Mountain View from July 5-8, emerging from the weekend as the state champions. The Pinedale Senior Little League team, consisting of players 13 to 15 years old, secured its first state title ever.

To do so, the team beat Kemmerer, Laramie, Douglas, Fort Bridger and Rock Springs.
Pinedale has only had a Senior Little League team for three years, but has been building the overall league, including T-Ball, minors, majors and now seniors, for years. One of the program's goals is to build either an American Legion or Babe Ruth Team next while continuing all the other teams so that the kids ages 5-18 can experience baseball here in Sublette County.

In addition to the state title, the Pinedale team snagged an invite to play in the West Regional Little League Tourney in Oakland, Calif., from July 19-26.
The team, their coaches and supporters are frantically fundraising to come up with the $20,000 necessary to travel to the California tournament in the next week. Team coaches have setup a GoFundMe page accessible through the Pinedale Little League’s Facebook page and at https://gofund.me/8fa82272.

As of Monday, July 10, the team had raised a little more than $400. According to fundraiser organizers, “No donation is too small ... to help these kids’ dreams come true!”

People who cannot financially support the fundraiser are encouraged to share the GoFundMe page on their social media accounts and via email and text message.

Monetary donations can also be sent securely to Pinedale Little League @PinedaleLL via the Venmo smartphone application.

The Pinedale Senior Little League team includes manager Nick Jaquez, assistant coaches Alan Boyer and Andy Currah and players Reed Morningstar, Andy Currah, Brayson Boyer, Tristan Robertson, Quincy Mika, Boeh Gamble, Kolbyn Jaquez, Tyler Currah, Ryder Siefkes, Tyson Ramirez, Ian Rigo, Hardty Huffman, Israel “Izzy” Bandin, Zac Batrum-Smith and Aringtyn Huffman.
