ANNAPOLIS, MD. – Pinedale High School alumna Isabella Romasko, Class of 2021, snagged 2023 Second-Team All-Patriot League honors for women’s outdoor track and field as a sophomore and Midshipman on the track team at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.

Romasko captured second place in the women’s heptathlon at the Patriot League Outdoor Track Championships hosted by Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., on May 5-6. Garnering 8 team points, Romasko’s finish in the heptathlon helped propel the Navy women’s team to first place.

The women’s team recorded 241.5 points to claim the title for the fifth consecutive year at the championships.

The heptathlon is a grueling seven-event test of endurance – requiring competitors to complete the 100-hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200-meters, long jump, javelin and 800-meters over the course of two days.

Romasko bagged first place in the 200-meter-dash portion of the heptathlon, clocking in at 25.33 seconds. She placed second in the long jump section at 17 feet, 8 inches. Upon completion of all seven events in the heptathlon, Romasko tallied 4,693 points to place second.

Director of Track and Field-Cross Country Jamie Cook praised his team’s effort at the championships.

“There are so many great things to talk about at this meet,” he said. “Everyone contributed in some way and the support the teams showed each other was tremendous.”

The Navy women’s team beat nine schools at the championships, including Boston University and U.S. Army-West Point.

Romasko is majoring in nuclear engineering and plans to commission into the U.S. Marine Corps upon graduation.
