SUBLETTE COUNTY – A Pinedale student was named a winner of the annual Letters About Literature contest sponsored by the Wyoming Center for the Book.
Kailee Grimes of Pinedale won the seventh-to-eighth-grade category, the Wyoming Humanities announced on Monday.
The national program allows fourth-grade students and beyond to read a book and write back to the author (living or dead) of a book that changed their lives. Grimes wrote about The Histories by Herodotus.
This year’s contest featured more than 260 students across Wyoming.
Winners in each graded category received a $150 Amazon gift card, second-place recipients earned a $100 gift card and third-place honorees received a $50 gift card.
