BIG PINEY – The Big Piney High School volleyball team played tough 3A rivals Pinedale on Thursday, October 2, followed by Mountain View on Saturday.
The previous week did not bring the outcomes the Big Piney High School volleyball team hoped for in terms of wins, but it was a week full of growth and exciting moments that showed just how far our team has come. The week also demonstrated how ready we are for the final stretch of the season.
Senior Lizzy Brandt continues to shine with her consistency in the back row, keeping our defense steady and composed.
Fellow senior Kodee Greene remains a force at the net with her strong blocking presence.
Junior Jada Banks continues to dominate offensively with big kills and dependable play in serve receive.
Senior Kaity Shreve leads the 2A division in assists, setting up our hitters with precision and confidence.
Junior Myka Wicks has delivered kills in crucial moments, giving our team the spark we need when it matters most.
Sophomore Asa Cogburn has proven to be one of our most reliable out-of-system players – she always finds a way to make a play when we need it.
As the coach, I also want to recognize freshman Anju Lee Sevenski, freshman Matazie Jones, sophomore Candace Cary and freshman Kassidy Shreve for their contributions. Each of these athletes plays an important role and they are always ready to step in wherever they are needed to bring great energy to our team.
Even though the scoreboard did not always go our way this week, we are proud of the progress we made. The effort, communication and teamwork we are seeing continues to build our confidence heading into the final few weeks of the season.
The best is still to come from this group of athletes!
