LITTLETON, COLORADO – Sublette County athletes competing with the Jackson Hole High School cross-country team competed at the annual Liberty Bell Invitational in Littleton, Colorado, on Saturday, September 14.
The event featured dozens of schools from across the region, including large programs in the Denver and Front Range metro areas. Many races included hundreds of participants.
Pinedale senior Madison Antonino clinched 18th place out of 152 contestants in the girls’ sweepstakes division, posting a time of 17 minutes, 43.10 seconds.
Three Big Piney seniors – Jolynn Jones, Emma York and Micah Strong – broke into the top 25 in the varsity girls’ division one race. Jones took 18th place, timing in at 19:32.80, with Strong in 22nd place at 19:43.10 and York in 24th at 19:48.80.
Freshman Chandler Jones came in 58th place in varsity girls’ division two, clocking in at 17:59.20.
Senior Cora Koci secured 49th place in the open girls’ 5K with a time of 27:36.90.
In girls’ junior varsity, senior Cambry Jenks placed 14th at 22:55.30. Freshman Joe Ferguson took 19th in boys’ junior varsity with a time of 20:39.90.
