The Sublette County Democratic Party sends a sincere shout out and thank you to Sublette County Commissioner Sam White and County Assessor Laila Illoway for presenting an informational forum on county taxation and funding on June 19 at the Pinedale Library.
Commissioner White and Assessor Illoway presented a detailed look at the Sublette County budget, revenue sources, and all county expenditures. They presented some possible financial scenarios for the county as a result of recent legislation cutting property taxes. They responded thoughtfully and thoroughly to all questions from residents in attendance.
We are also grateful for Sublette County School District #1 board member Angie Murphy who answered questions on impacts to Sublette schools, as well as County Attorney Clayton Melinkovich who answered questions on county revenue from mineral taxes.
We are very fortunate to live in a county where our elected officials value serving the public in this way.
