Glaciers host Gillette and Casper


PINEDALE – Both the Pinedale Glaciers’ 19U girls’ team and 18U high school team fought to defend the home rink at the Sublette County Ice Arena over the weekend.

The 18U team fell to Casper, 10-0, on Friday, Jan. 20, and lost the rematch against Casper, 10-1, on Saturday, Jan. 21.

The 19U girls came up short against Gillette, 3-1, on Friday. Digging deep, the Glaciers rallied and returned to the ice on Saturday to tie Gillette, 2-2.


Gillette won the first period of Friday’s game, scoring 2 points while holding Pinedale to nil. The Glaciers tied Gillette, 1-1, in the second period. Molly Murphy scored for Pinedale, assisted by Seren Noble.

Kylynn Martin played goalie for the Glaciers on Friday, tallying 26 saves.

Hitting the ice with renewed energy on Saturday, the Glaciers tied Gillette in the first period, 1-1. Murphy shot the puck into the net for Pinedale, assisted by Anabella Fausett.

The second period ended in a 1-1 stalemate. Elizabeth Loveless scored on a power play, assisted by Murphy and Noble.

Aringtyn Huffman served as goalie for the Glaciers on Saturday and made 43 saves.


Casper dominated the ice on Friday, leaving the Glaciers scoreless. Tyson Ramirez played goalie for the 18U and totaled 32 saves.

Casper shot in 10 goals to one from Pinedale during the rematch on Saturday. Yates Garcilaso-Huffman   scored for Pinedale, assisted by Peyton Bauman. Ramirez played goalie for most of the game, tallying 15 saves. Shea Rogge stepped in briefly to defend the net and caught one save.
