GREEN RIVER – The Sublette County combined girls’ swim team entered the second week of the season with solid performances at the Green River Fall Invite on Saturday, Sept. 7.

Sublette County finished eighth as a team with 82 points.

Numerous athletes broke into the top 10 at Green River. Senior Maggie Walker clinched fourth place in the 100-yard breaststroke, posting a time of 1 minute, 28.79 seconds.

Timing the 100-yard backstroke in at 1:16.42, junior Shelby Scott took seventh place in the event. Freshman Maggie Williams came in close on Scott’s heels with an eighth-place finish at 1:16.99.

In the 100-yard freestyle, sophomore Eva Scherbel snagged eighth place, clocking in at 1:06.71.

Williams captured ninth place in the 50-freestyle, crossing the finish line in 29.45 seconds. Walker came in 10th in the event with a time of 29.47 seconds.

Relay top-10 highlights included a fifth-place finish for Walker, Williams, junior Libby Olson and freshman Aylen Mills in the 200-medley relay. The team posted a time of 2:18.49.

Scherbel, junior Kamia Runyan, freshman Mesa Landers and junior Aurora Rees placed 10th in the 400-yard freestyle relay at 4:48.17.

• 50-freestyle: Matazi Landers in 13th place at 30.30 seconds, Mills 14th at 30.34, Olson 17th at 30.86, Mesa Landers 18th at 31.04, Scott 19th at 31.36, Anna Wexels 26th at 34.50, Kinnaman 28th at 35.23 and Francis 30th at 35.93.

• 100-freestyle: Olson in 15th place at 1:10.31, Mesa Landers 18th at 1:12.18, Rees 20th at 1:13.86, Arne 31st at 1:19.40, Wexels 32nd at 1:19.47, Wright 33rd at 1:19.64, Francis 35th at 1:20.94 and Kinnaman 36th at 1:21.27.

• 200-freestyle relay: Scherbel, Mesa Landers, Rees and Wright in 11th place at 2:12.28 and Olson, Wexels, Runyan and Arne 12th at 2:14.66.

• 100-backstroke: Mills in 11th place at 1:23.50 and Matazi Landers 12th at 1:23.54.

• 400-freestyle relay: Williams, Francis, Scott and Mills in 11th place at 4:56.47.
