Fair time

From classic rock to pig wrestling

Posted

Are you ready for a little classic rock and some “real” country music? The

2019 Sublette County Fair concert, on Friday, July 26, will feature just that.

Headliner Ned LeDoux, a former drummer in his dad Chris’ band, will take the stage.

Support act Corb Lund, an alt-country singer-songwriter from Alberta, Canada, will open.

Fleetwood Mask, the ultimate tribute band recreating the magic of Fleetwood Mac’s best live

shows, will also be on stage.

In the Double D Pig Wrestling, on Wednesday, July 24, teams have one minute to catch

their pig and place it in a barrel in the middle of the pen, rear-end first. The catch is that the

pen is filled with muddy clay and the pig is smeared with the same slippery substance.

The Little Buckaroo Rodeo, Thursday, July 25, will have contestants competing in a variety

of events including bareback riding, calf riding, mini-bull riding, sheep riding, calf roping,

goat tail tying and stock horse barrels.

Horse pulls on Saturday, July 27, have been one of the highest attended events at the fair

for several years. Teams of two horses will pull a sleigh loaded with weights. The teams are

divided into three weight divisions and compete against the other teams in that division to see

who can pull the most weight the furthest distance.
