PINEDALE — Something magical is taking shape in Pinedale. Folks traversing the bike paths in and around Pinedale might have already stumbled upon the new art installation. It really rocks.
A communal work of art is forming alongside the bike path off Willow Lake Road towards Pine Creek. A snake made up of painted rocks appeared over the summer, adjacent to the path.
It started as a head and tail made up of roughly a dozen painted rocks, but over the summer, it grew to more than 20 feet long, comprised of over 150 painted rocks. The body of this beast is the result of community members of all ages donating their time and talent. Like many endeavors, Rocky began as a simple idea. Then it caught the eye of a second person, and a third, and so on, clearly resonating in the imaginations of those who have passed by that spot. The rock art reflects the heart of Pinedale, where something as small as a spontaneous work of art unites people, despite the divisiveness of the world.
