BIG PINEY — Big Piney’s Christmas Parade of Lights kicked off the holiday season in southern Sublette County with festive floats and brilliant displays dazzling down Budd Avenue on Saturday, Dec. 2. Families lined the street and enjoyed hot chocolate, cider and cookies provided by local shops while cheering for their favorite floats. Kids converged on handfuls of candy provided by parade participants.
Following the parade, folks gathered at Centennial Park on the corner of Budd Avenue and Nicholas Street for the traditional community lighting of the town’s Christmas tree, facilitated by Mayor Shane Voss.
Parade sponsors included the towns of Big Piney and Marbleton, Heart S Land & Livestock, Sublette County Recreation Board, La Cabaña, the Green River Bar, Williams Automotive and Burney and Company.
Saturday’s festivities to usher in Christmas in Big Piney also included the Jingle Bell Jog hosted by the Big Piney High School Student Council and the South County Market.
Pinedale’s Mountain Man Christmas Parade is scheduled for 6 p.m., this Saturday, Dec. 9, down Main Street.
